4 Enemies of the One Piece Navy Raised by Garp

Garp has a habit of raising enemies. That statement might actually hold some truth.

So far, there are at least four enemies of the One Piece Navy who were raised by Garp. Here they are!

1. Monkey D. Dragon – Garp’s Son Who Became the Leader of the Revolutionary Army

First up, there's Dragon.
Dragon is Garp’s biological son.
Instead of following in his father's footsteps, Dragon ended up becoming the leader of the Revolutionary Army.

2. Monkey D. Luffy – Garp’s Grandson Who Became a Pirate, and Eventually a Yonko

Monkey D. Luffy is Garp’s grandson.
Garp actually hoped Luffy would become a Marine like him.
He even trained young Luffy using harsh methods (like leaving him in a dangerous forest or tying him to a balloon to make him fly high), all in hopes that Luffy would grow into a strong Marine.
But instead, Luffy became a pirate.
Not just any pirate—he’s now one of the Four Emperors (Yonko), and he might even become the Pirate King someday.

3. Portgas D. Ace – Roger’s Son Who Was Entrusted to Garp and Became a Pirate

Roger entrusted Ace to Garp to raise.
Back then, Garp hoped that one day Ace and Luffy would both become Marines.
But Ace ended up becoming a pirate too.

4. Kuzan

It was Kuzan who said in Chapter 1087 that Garp has a habit of raising enemies.
It was revealed that in the past, Kuzan trained alongside Garp.
They once practiced punching the armored hulls of warships with a rule: no Haki or Devil Fruit powers were allowed when beating up the “warship punching bags.”
Kuzan eventually became a Navy admiral and was known as one of the more morally upright ones compared to Kizaru and Sakazuki.
However, he has since left the Navy and joined Blackbeard’s crew.
Kuzan even fought Garp at Hachinosu.

So those are four enemies of the One Piece Navy who were raised by Garp.
