God's Knight turns out to have
immortality like Gorosei. Gunko had his upper body blown up by Usopp but was
later able to recover easily. This makes them feel very challenging, even for
the Straw Hat Pirates who are already at the level of the Yonko group.
But what about Shanks?
So, we know that Shamrock,
Shanks' twin brother, is a God's Knight and may not be as easily injured as
Gunko. Does Shanks, Shamrock's twin brother, have that privilege too?
Here's my analysis!
1. Shanks' scars insist he's
not immortal
Luffy and Shanks. (Doc. (Toei
Animation/One Piece)
Shanks had already lost his left
hand and it didn't grow anymore.
So from there it was clear that
he didn't have an immortality like a God's Knight.
Prior to this I also came across
the theory that Shanks allowed his left hand to be preyed upon by the Lord of
the Coast so that his Abyss mark would disappear and he would no longer be
under the threat of Imu.
But I suspect the Abyss sign is
related to the immortality of Gorosei and God's Knight (since
they can all teleport with the Abyss). This Shanks has had scratches on his
face since before his arm was preyed. The scars of Kurogide's attacks should
have recovered immediately if Shanks had ever had immortality.
2. This immortality is not
automatically owned by all Tenryuubito
Charlos and Mjosgard. (Doc. (Toei
Animation/One Piece)
What you have to pay attention to
is that immortality is not automatically possessed by all Tenryuubito.
Saint Charlos, who went back and
forth battered, was proof of that.
This immortality seems to be
something given, most likely by Imu, to people he considers important.
Be it God's Knight, and
especially Gorosei.
Shanks, who has been with Roger's
group since birth and then decided to leave Mary Geoise after returning there,
seems to have never been given this gift.
3. Conclusion?
Shanks at OPTC. (Doc. Bandai
Namco, Shueisha, Eiichiro Oda/One Piece Treasure Cruise)
From the injuries he suffered, it
was already felt that Shanks did not have immortality.
