Marshall D. Teach is currently one of the Yonkou (Emperors) in the new world. As a Yonkou, of course Kurohige (Teach's nickname) has great power. This power comes from the Devil Fruit Yami Yami No Mi (Logia type) and Gura Gura No Mi (Paramecia type) that he possesses.
We already know how powerful Gura Gura No Mi is when in the Marine Ford Arc and how terrifying Yami Yami No Mi can swallow/suck anything. As OPlovers, we certainly know Yami Yami No Mi is said to be a Special Logia Devil Fruit. Why is this fruit special? What is special about this fruit? Here Admin tries to discuss it.
Yami Yami No Mi is a Logia-type demon fruit that allows users to manipulate the element of darkness. The element of darkness here could also include gravity as Kurohige said "Darkness is gravity! The power to pull everything in". Everything here includes the abilities of other Devil Fruit. The reason Yami Yami No Mi is called Special Logia is because of its ability to negate the abilities of other Devil Fruit.
During Ace and Kurohige's battle, the ability of the Yami Yami No Mi fruit to absorb the power of Ace's Mera Mera No Mi is shown here. But even though it can absorb the power of other demon fruits, Kurohige must hold or touch the user of the demon fruit to absorb its power.
Here's a list of the abilities Yami Yami No Mi has shown so far:
1. Black Hole: Kurohige spreads darkness over a large area and like an actual black hole, swallows anything. This technique was first shown in front of Ace.
2. Liberation (Used after Black Hole): Kurohige spits out all the remnants of the objects swallowed by the darkness at once. This technique really demonstrates her power.
3. Kurouzu: Pointing one arm towards his opponent, Kurohige activates the gravitational power of the darkness to pull them into his grasp. Kurohige can then strike them with great force.
Although it is very overpowered, Yami Yami No Mi also has a weakness. Since Yami Yami No Mi is able to absorb everything, it means that pain will also be absorbed. When Kurohige was hit, the pain that Kurohige would receive was doubled. This was the risk of Yami Yami No Mi's fruit. And also unlike most other Logia types that can transform into elements (e.g. fire, magma, ice), Yami Yami No Mi users cannot transform into the element of darkness.
