This demon fruit is said to be Special Paramecia because its strength is almost able to match the strength of the Logia demon fruit (in this case changing shape to mochi substance). Katakuri is able to change his body shape into Mochi and even flow with Haki.
Usually the type of Paramecia is more about controlling objects, or becoming superhuman (like Luffy).
3. Zoan Special

The Zoan-type devil fruit is capable of transforming the user's body into an animal form. Zoan-type demon fruit is divided into ordinary animal-type Zoan, ancient animal-type Zoan, and supernatural/legendary animal-type Zoan.
Of these types, the Magical Animal-type Zoan can be said to be a special Zoan. Not only do they have strong powers, usually the Magical Animal type Zoan follows the power of the legendary animal such as Marco the Phoniex who can heal himself and others.
