Excitement
is building as Netflix begins to reveal early hints about One Piece
Season 2. The streaming giant recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo of the
Straw Hat Pirates cast on set, giving fans a sneak peek into the next chapter
of the live-action adaptation based on Eiichiro Oda’s legendary manga.
Posted
via Netflix’s official social media accounts, the new image features Iñaki
Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob
Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Each cast member appears in fresh
costumes that closely resemble their manga counterparts—sparking anticipation
for what’s to come.
But
Netflix didn't stop there. In a cryptic caption, the platform hinted at a major
announcement related to One Piece Season 2 coming this weekend, just
in time for One Piece Day, which will be celebrated globally on August
9–10.
“Can
you feel the breeze, Nakama? The sea is restless and rumors from the Grand Line
say something BIG is coming on ONE PIECE DAY! Trust us, you’ll want to be on
board when it arrives!” the teaser post read.
Naturally,
the fan community exploded with curiosity.
“We
can’t wait to see it,” wrote Instagram user @leraabovadaily.
“So
anxious waiting for the surprise,” commented @so_luppi.
Speculation
is high, especially since Season 2 is set to introduce a host of new
characters as the Straw Hat crew ventures into the treacherous Grand Line.
Among
the newcomers is Superman star Mikaela Hoover, who will portray Tony
Tony Chopper, the lovable reindeer-human hybrid expected to become an
instant fan favorite.
Earlier
this year, Taz Skylar, who plays Sanji, offered a small tease about what fans
can expect from the upcoming season. According to Skylar, the scale and
ambition of Season 2 go far beyond what viewers saw in Season 1.
“I
can’t say much, but what I can say is this season is absolutely wild,” Skylar
said in an interview. “The entire production is trying to do something that I
don’t think has ever been attempted on television before. The scale is massive.
The sets are huge, the action is more intense, and somehow, all of us in the
cast have grown even closer than I thought possible.”
One
Piece Season 2 officially wrapped filming in Cape Town, South
Africa, in February 2025, and is now in post-production.
With One
Piece Day just around the corner, all eyes are on Netflix. What surprise
could they be planning? A trailer? A release date? A casting reveal? Whatever
it is, fans are ready to set sail.
