One Piece Live Action

One Piece anime enthusiasts, get ready, because Netflix has announced that the One Piece manga will be featured in a new anime adaptation starting from the East Blue saga.

This exciting news was unveiled by Netflix on the second day of Jump Festa 2024, an annual event for manga and anime enthusiasts in Tokyo, Japan.

The upcoming animated series will be titled "The One Piece." WIT Studio, renowned for their work on popular anime such as SPY x Family and Attack on Titan seasons one through three, will handle the production. Currently in production, The One Piece will exclusively premiere worldwide on Netflix, as part of a collaboration between the platform and the production team of The One Piece, including representatives from Shueisha, Fuji Television Network, and Toei Animation Co.

In a joint statement, the team expressed their excitement about this groundbreaking project, promising a unique presentation distinct from the One Piece television anime series that has captivated audiences for over 25 years. Through The One Piece, the production team aims to deliver a fresh yet familiar experience to viewers, supported by cutting-edge visual technology to showcase Luffy's various adventures in the East Blue saga.

Written by Eiichiro Oda, the One Piece manga, with a staggering 510 million copies sold worldwide, celebrated its 25th anniversary in July 2022.

The live-action One Piece series, exclusively streaming on Netflix since late August, has received widespread acclaim. Meanwhile, the television anime series produced by Toei Animation has been airing since 1999.

Oda's other manga work, created when he was 19, has also been adapted into anime for the first time. Premiering next January, "Monsters 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation," packed with action, follows the story of Ryuma, a samurai thrust into a world suddenly attacked by terrifying forces—the dragons capable of wreaking havoc.

This anime adaptation provides a unique opportunity for fans to witness Oda's creativity during his younger years. "Monsters 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation" is believed to offer a fresh perspective on his storytelling abilities and a glimpse into his imaginative world.
