Before getting into the article, let me remind you that this is just my opinion/theory.
In One Piece Anime, Devil Fruit is one of the sources of power besides Haki and also martial arts (such as fishman Karate). Devil fruit will give power to its users according to the type of devil fruit. For example, Zoan, Paramecia and Logia types.
When in the Whole Cake Island arc in the scene of Big Mom's past, it is shown how Big Mom (suspected) ate Carmel's friends and madam. As a result of that event, Big Mom got the power of Soru-Soru No Mi which originally belonged to Madam Carmel.
As a result of this scene, some OPlovers argue that the power of the devil fruit can be inherited or given to others. There are 2 proofs that mimin found. Here's the proof....

As explained above, Madam Carmel's devil fruit power transferred to Big Mom after Big Mom ate Madam Carmel. That way, eating the body of a devil fruit user can make someone get the power of the devil fruit.
2. Scene Smiley in Arc Punk Hazard
In this scene, the dead Smiley drips some slime that hits an apple. The apple turns into a devil fruit (Smiley's devil fruit). Although in this scene Smiley dies, the event of the apple turning into a devil fruit happened moments before Smiley died.
This scene also makes it clear that when the devil fruit user dies, the devil fruit will appear and look for the nearest fruit to occupy.
That is proof that the power of the devil fruit can be inherited.
