Following
the events on Egghead Island, there is a possibility that Jewelry Bonney will
join the Straw Hat crew for their next adventure. Jewelry Bonney has become one
of the crucial characters in the recent One Piece saga. She has been involved
in various significant events throughout the saga and even took center stage in
the Egghead arc. Speculations are circulating among fans, suggesting that
Jewelry Bonney might become a member of the Straw Hat crew in their upcoming
adventures.
Bonney
in the One Piece Story
As
mentioned earlier, Bonney is currently a central figure in the Egghead arc. In
this arc, we witness Bonney's tragic and sorrowful past. We finally learn about
the close relationship between Kuma and Bonney, and how Bonney became a
significant factor in Kuma's transformation into a Pacifista.
Bonney's
life has been marked by tragedy, enduring considerable suffering. Despite this,
Kuma has always been there for Bonney, serving as a good father figure and
mentor, even though they do not share a blood connection. This emphasizes the
idea that family is not always defined by blood relations.
In a
flashback, it is revealed that Bonney is the child of Ginny, who was kidnapped
and forced to marry one of the Celestial Dragons. Ginny tried to protect Bonney
in her womb, leading to Bonney suffering from the rare Sapphire Scale disease.
This illness eventually claimed Ginny's life and was passed on to Bonney.
In a
gesture of respect for Ginny, Kuma decided to consider Bonney as his own child.
Kuma played the role of a caring father figure, teaching Bonney everything he
knew and molding her into an intelligent, strong individual. However, Kuma's
greatest sacrifice for Bonney was his transformation into a cyborg to cure her
of the Sapphire Scale disease. This decision was coerced by Gorosei Saturn, who
threatened Bonney's life if Kuma refused.
In
chapter 1101, the origins of Bonney's journey to becoming a pirate and a
prominent figure in the Worst Generation are revealed. Additionally, her
mission to find her father's whereabouts is unveiled, creating anticipation for
future developments.
Bonney
Will Aid Luffy
Currently,
Bonney is under the control of Gorosei Saturn, in a state of unconsciousness
after attempting to attack him. Sanji and Vegapunk are powerless to assist her
due to some ability of Gorosei Saturn that immobilizes those around him.
However, there is speculation that Bonney may aid Luffy in facing Gorosei
Saturn.
In
chapter 1101, it is shown how Bonney escaped the Sorbet Kingdom. She defeated
Alpha, using the Iblis Toshi Toshi fruit to transform him based on her
imagination. In the context of the battle against Gorosei Saturn, it is likely
that Bonney will assist Luffy by transforming into Nika once again. This time,
Bonney will witness Luffy's transformation into Nika without relying on
imagination, actively contributing to defeating Gorosei Saturn.
Jewelry
Bonney Joins the Straw Hat Crew
One
common occurrence among fans, especially when a new character emerges with a
significant role in the story, is the speculation about whether that character
might join the Straw Hat crew. In this case, there is a possibility that,
following the events in the Egghead arc or on Egghead Island, Jewelry Bonney
will join the Straw Hat crew.
But
can Jewelry Bonney really join the Straw Hats? The Straw Hat pirate crew might
be considered complete by the end of the Egghead arc. However, the crew is not
yet complete. In the early stages of the One Piece story, Luffy expressed his
desire to have ten members in his crew. Currently, Luffy has nine crew members,
indicating the potential for a tenth member.
The
question then arises: can Bonney join and become the tenth member? Certainly,
many believe that Bonney is suitable to join Luffy's crew. Her backstory has
garnered much sympathy from fans, and her profound connection with Kuma makes
her character even more special.
As
explained in Kuma's backstory, Bonney dreams of visiting various fascinating
places, a dream she shared with her father. Bonney even has a special book
containing the places she wants to visit. It would be intriguing if Oda Sensei
were to realize Bonney's significant dream, akin to "Kozuki Oden" in
Whitebeard's group.
Ideally,
it would have been Kuma who showed or explained the beautiful and interesting
places to Bonney. However, as Geeks know, Kuma's current condition is vastly
different. Kuma cannot do what he should have done for his daughter. On the
other hand, both Kuma and Bonney are characters who deeply trust the figure of
Nika.
Luffy
is the Nika figure whom both of them have trusted to save everyone, including
Kuma and Bonney. While saving Kuma might be achievable by Luffy, it would make
more sense if Luffy were to rescue Bonney and take her on adventures. Various
dreams that Kuma did not reveal to Bonney could be realized or continued by
Luffy.
Bonney
seems unlikely to object and might even volunteer to assist the Nika figure she
has trusted to save the world and free those in need. In doing so, Bonney would
follow in her father's footsteps and honor his actions.
