This ability is a threat to Usopp because with such a long shooting range, Van Augur can attack Usopp suddenly without being noticed. But this can be overcome if Usopp can fully awaken Kenbunshoku Haki (aura of observation).
Conclusion:
In terms of weapons, Usopp's weapons are more creative and can be used in various conditions while Van Augur's weapons are more powerful.
